The Atlantica Party is looking forward to the upcoming Nova Scotia election

After months of work and consultation with members The Atlantica Party is readying itself to participate in the imminent election in Nova Scotia. The campaign slogan will be the word, ‘Vision’. The new Party has adopted a party Constitution, Code of Ethics, and a set of Party Principles that describe the Vision, Basic Tenets and Macro policies of the Party. The appropriate papers have been filed for the registration of the Party with the Joint Stock Department.

“The Party is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kirk O’Connell to the position of Chair of the Campaign Committee,” said Leader, Jonathan Dean. “We are excited about participating in the election and we are putting out the call for candidates, new members and volunteers, anyone who is interested in helping to improve Nova Scotia, who sees our Vision, is urged to contact us at info@atlanticaparty.ca or visit our website www.atlanticaparty.ca.”

The Atlantica Party announces the adoption of a Party Constitution, a Code of Ethics and Party Principles.

After three months of work and consultation the Atlantica Party Association of Nova Scotia announces the adoption by its membership of a comprehensive party Constitution and a Code of Ethics for its membership.

Also adopted is a set of Party Principles that describe the Vision, Basic Tenets and Macro policies of the Party.

Vision
To help each Nova Scotian achieve their unbounded potential.

Basic Tenets
The primary role of government is to maximize the freedom, liberty and opportunities of the individual.
The right to trial by jury of peers.
Security in one’s home from unlawful entry.
Security of one’s property from unlawful seizure.
No taxation without representation.
Democratic discussion.
Political equality.
Free markets.
No cruel and unusual punishments.
The right to rebel.
Strict separation of church and state.

Macro policies
A reformed voting system where every vote counts and every vote is equal.
A political system with full separation of political powers making it policy forward, rooted in, answerable to, focused on and involving citizens.
Respecting the diversity of Atlantica Canadians while recognizing our strength through economic and political unity.
Economic growth and job creation through the private sector and free markets as the engine of the economy.
Steady, gradual reduction in government spending and taxation while maintaining a firm commitment to balanced budgets.
Government must ensure high-quality infrastructure, health care and education for citizens.
A social safety net that focuses on those who truly require it, one that does not promote unnecessary dependency.
Laws must respect individual freedom while holding the individual responsible for his or her behavior.
The constant improvement of Nova Scotia’s economic, environmental and social conditions within a strong and united Canada.
